Ana Kristina Gasteyer (born January 1st, 1970) is an American actress, a singer, and comedian. She became famous for her stint as a star on the NBC Sketch Comedy Series Saturday Night Live. She has since starred in shows like ABC's Suburgatory and TBS's People of Earth, NBC's American Auto and the film Mean Girls. Gasteyer began her acting career at Northwestern University. She initially studied voice, but switched to theatre studies after she became involved in students' improv comedy groups. The same spirit carried over to her supporting roles such as the overly controlling Sheila Shay in Suburgatory, and the eccentric Karen Grisham on Lady Dynamite. All of this has led to American Auto the NBC show that will give Ana Gasteyer a starring role. From 1996 to 2002, she was a part of The NBC Sketch Comedy Show Saturday Night Live.
